This alignment based practice blends the flow and extension of traditional vinyasa. Each instructor will bring their own expertise and flare to this class leaving you feeling grounded and centered. Our All Levels Flow is perfect for those newer to yoga while also providing a challenge for our more experienced students; as we offer modifications and variations to meet you at your comfort level. Throughout this musically driven guided flow, we'll get creative and free while practicing alignment, breathing, mindfulness and stretching. You'll roll out of savasana with your mind, body, and spirit feeling at peace.
Restorative Yoga is designed to promote stillness in the body and mind with the focus of intentional rest. Intentional rest is profoundly different from sleep because of the mindfulness component of the practice. Yoga props, such as blocks, bolsters, blankets, straps, sandbags and eye pillows, are used to support the body and facilitate total relaxation on a physiological level. Postures are designed to minimize physical discomfort and sensation while allowing for gentle opening and expansion. The poses are held for long periods of time ranging from 10 to 15 minutes. Some benefits of restorative yoga include reduced heart rate, reduced respiration rate, improved heart rate variability and vagal tone, reduction of cortisol levels (stress) as well as alleviation of symptoms associated with depression, anxiety, PTSD, hypertension, IBS, COPD, insomnia, and athletic performance. Beyond the physiological benefits, there are also many mental benefits associated with Restorative Yoga, including increased serotonin and dopamine levels as well as promotion of thoughtfulness and reactiveness.
The best way to start anything is to set a strong foundation. Firefly Foundations will be perfect for anyone new to yoga as well as seasoned yoga practitioners who want to refine their technique and refresh their understanding of the fundamentals.
This class will help students create a strong foundation, increasing their strength and confidence to lay the groundwork for more advanced classes. Classes will incorporate mindfulness, breathwork, basic yoga postures and highlight how yoga is so much more than movement. Instructors may pause in common poses to ensure each student has proper and safe alignment suited to their needs. Additionally, instructors will offer modifications and yoga props to facilitate a safe practice.
Reiki is a Japanese energy healing technique for stress reduction and relaxation that promotes healing on mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual levels. Reiki is founded on the principle that illness or disease is a result of being out of balance and in order for us to live at our highest potential we must restore balance. Energetic imbalances may manifest in our bodies as physical or emotional pain and discomfort, apathy or spiritual disconnection. Reiki restores balance to the energetic anatomy balancing the chakras and restoring energetic flow through the nadis within the human subtle body. Reiki restores balance to the mind, body, and spirit and enhances the body’s natural ability to heal.
During a Reiki session the client remains fully clothed and positioned in a supported and comfortable Savasana. There is no experience required to receive the benefits of Reiki - just an open mind and heart and an intention of healing.
